On Thursday, June 12, Columbia Place Assisted Living resident Mary Lou Hendricks got to live out a lifelong goal of horseback riding thanks to the community’s Dreams program.

Mary Lou was taken to Horses of Hope in Turner, Oregon, who “provide equine assisted services in a safe, friendly, accessible, and supportive environment”.

“I’ve always loved horses, and I watch them on the computer all the time. Wild mustangs are my favorite – they’re free and beautiful,” she said.

While she didn’t ride a wild mustang, Mary did get the thrill of horseback riding on one of the horses across the property – check out the photos and video below!

This is the latest outing through Columbia Pace’s Dreams program, after resident Byron Grindle went indoor skydiving earlier this year.

Congrats to Life Enrichment Director Stephanie Simmons and the team at Columbia Place for running this incredible program.
